How should I prepare the surface?

The surface should be sanded with a sandpaper, so that the following coating has better adhesion. At the weatherboards Loose-fitting color residues removed completely and sanded.


Do I need to apply a primer? If so, how should this be applied?

Is the existing paint intact, a primer is not necessary. However, should the bare wood visible, a primer is useful.

Which paint should be applied?

For windows it makes sense to use a humidity regulating coat in avoidance to premature flaking of the paint. Moisture that is sitting in the wood can be escaping and not intrusion. As a primer coat we recommand Impredur Primer 835 by Brillux and as the final coat Impredur Ventipaint 822 by Brillux.

How should the paint be applied?

The paint is best applied with a synthetic fiber brush. Depending on your personal preference either you can use a ring brush or a flat brush.

Tips

Use the masking tape (tape) to cover when adjacent woods or surfaces when should not be painted. The lacquer by Brillux are available in standart colour white. You can get more special colours by our mixing system.

The paint should be applied with a glaze brush. For best results brush in direction of the wood grain.
